WE WON GOLD IN THE GREEN IMPACT!!
The green impact is an environmental accreditation and award scheme run by the NUS, for student unions and universities. This year Swansea Students’ Union won a GOLD award!
Not only did we win gold the SU has been congratulated by the NUS representative Charlotte Barrow on our fantastically close relationship with the University’s sustainability department. The Pro Vice Chancellor also congratulated us, stating how important sustainability is for the future.
The next stage in the awards is to apply for the gold ‘excellence’ award, where in the next year the SU needs to complete a project in one of the following:
- Biodiversity
- Greening the Curriculum (education for sustainable development)
- Ethical Finance
- Green Impact in the Community
- Green Grant Schemes
- Our own idea
If you fancy getting involved, or have some ideas give me a shout (environment@swansea-union.co.uk).
