New Constitution and new schedules
Back in March the new constitution was passed by a referendum of students. The Union now is looking at the rules by which it is run on a day-to-day basis. These rules are called the schedules and can be changed and updated more easily than the main body of the constitution.
The Schedules cover things like our rules for elections and how meetings are run. The Union has been requested by the University to have these in place by July. We are intending wherever possible to keep them as close to our existing rules. However, some will have to change to be in line with our new constitution.
This site is here for you to give us feedback on these changes.
The Union will be engaging in a much wider consultation process on these documents in the autumn where more changes are hoped to be made.
The first document we have is the rules on opting-out of the Union; this is needed to be in line with the 1994 Education Act.
