The University of Wales Swansea currently has just over 2500 places in residence, with a further 272 under construction. New students have priority in the allocation of places in residence and are automatically sent an accommodation application form as part of the admission process. Most returning students, and some new students, prefer to live in private sector accommodation. The Accommodation Office keeps lists of vacancies throughout the year, with the first list for the new academic year produced each February.
