Full Time Officer & Affiliation Referenda Results 2015
Voting for this year’s Full Time Officer (FTO) elections and the Union’s Affiliations Referenda was open between Tuesday the 24th of February at midday and Friday the 27th of February at 5pm. A total of 2861 students voted in the FTO elections and a total of 299 students voted on the six affiliations referenda. The results in summary are as follows.
Full Time Officer Elections 2015
Education Officer: Robiu Salisu was duly elected with a majority total vote of of 1792 votes (quota to elected was 1136).
President: Ajing Jipur (AJ) was elected duly with a majority total vote of of 1105 votes (quota to elected was 955).
Societies & Services Officer: Alys Chapman was duly elected with a majority total vote of of 998 votes (quota to elected was 904).
Sports Officer: Felix Mmeka was duly elected with a majority total vote of of 978 votes (quota to elect was 931).
Welfare Officer: Lloyd Harris was duly elected with a majority total vote of of 991 votes (quota to elect was 846).
The winning candidate for the post of Societies & Services Officer has chosen not to take up the post and subsequently arrangements will now be made for a new election to be held. Details of the new election are available on our website.
Affiliations Referenda 2015
Advice UK: total number of votes 212, votes to keep affiliation 148, votes against affiliation 25 and abstentions 39.
NACAB (National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux): total number of votes 228, votes to keep affiliation 169, votes against affiliation 28 and abstentions 31.
NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association): total number of votes 194, votes to keep affiliation 128, votes against affiliation 32 and abstentions 34.
NUS (National Union of Students): total number of votes 291, votes to keep affiliation 250, votes against affiliation 25 and abstentions 16.
SRA (Student Radio Association): total number of votes 201, votes to keep affiliation 136, votes against affiliation 36 and abstentions 29.
UKCISA (United Kingdom Council for International Student Affairs): total number of votes 205, votes to keep affiliation 134, votes against affiliation 28 and abstentions 43.
The results in full for each of the Full Time Officer positions and each of the Affiliations Referenda will be included in the official Election Report. This report will also include an account of the complaints made during the election and the actions taken by the Returning Officer.
