SWANSEA students’ achievements have been celebrated at an awards ceremony marking the climax of the academic year.
The Students’ Union awards are held to showcase some of the individuals and groups who have contributed to the Union, whether through political and welfare campaigns, members of societies or volunteering hours.
The award categories range from the Community and Engagement Award, to Best Student Led Campaign. The ceremony also includes the prestigious Ben Lockwood Award, honouring a student who has shown outstanding commitment to the Union and gone above and beyond to help fellow students.
Now in its second year the event has developed from the annual Society Awards, however due to the success of Swansea students the awards have grown to include broader categories.
“It’s been a great year for our Students’ Union and bringing our diverse membership together to celebrate all of our successes was fantastic.” Said Luke James, SU President.
“Whether it’s through societies, student media or campaigns hundreds of students still live and breathe the SU every day and it’s important we recognise and thank them for their hard work.
“This year’s awards was undoubtedly the best for some time and we celebrated the many achievements of our members in style.”
