What is My Login?

Each Swansea University student has an account which allows you to login to Swansea Uni web services such as email, Blackboard and so on, this same login can be used here.

Your Intranet Login Username is your University student number. For example a student with a student number of 765432 would have an user name of "765432".

Your initial University password is EITHER your date of birth in the format DD/MM/YYYY OR a combination of your student number and date of birth in the format studentno/DD/MM/YYYY, so a student born on the Second of January 1994 would have either of the following passwords: 02/01/1994 OR 765432/02/01/1994.

Education Officer

Your Education Officer represents all students on academic issues, both locally and nationally. Zahid’s role ensures the selection and development of Subject and College Reps for all academic departments. He also works with the University to make sure all students are receiving beneficial feedback and assessment. The role encompasses anything from employability to library fines!

“This year I plan to change and implement the most effective academic representation system that Swansea University has ever seen. I want to start a debate on careers and employability that ends with an increase in resources for students. I will also be campaigning to ensure that every student has the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities. “

Swansea University Students' Union On Tour

This summer, the Full Time Officers travelled to Tenby on a team building weekend!

We took part in a whole range of activities which put each of us out of our comfort zones. From swimming in rapids to pistol shooting – the activities were designed to bring us together to make sure we work well as a team to fight for students’ rights in the coming year.

And it was immense. Here are the highlights:

We started off with go-karting (where yours truly demolished a wall!), swiftly moving on to other things like clay pigeon shooting, baseball and pistol shooting.

You might find this hard to believe but our (card carrying Amnesty member, vegetarian and all round good natured) Welfare Officer scored the highest (by a mile) on the pistol shooting!

Charlotte claims that she couldn’t see and that it was some sort of 6th sense – what is clear is that none of us want to see her bad side after watching her demolish her targets.

Next up was a team challenge. We were split into two teams and each had to create a music video about Tenby and Swansea SU. Team 1 was: Tom, Josh and Becki. Team 2 was: Zahid, Imogen, Charlotte and Mahaboob. We got extra points for involving locals and playing instruments.

I’m pleased to say that our team won. This is when Mahaboob (International)came into his element. He charmed local residents and got almost anything we needed for the task with a cheeky smile!

You can watch the winning music video here:

Potentially the most dangerous activity of the three days was white water rafting. We all ended up in the water at one point! The prize for getting dunked the most goes to Becki Warrilow, who was a particular target.

Stuart (our General Manager) and Martin (our Finance and Commercial manager) were also thrown in a lot. Shona’s protests fell on deaf ears as our president’s fury also landed her in cold water. The award for bravery went to me… I can’t actually swim!

Fun and games aside, as we were riding the rapids on jagged rocks, Tom and Josh fell out unexpectedly. This was certainly not part of any plan for organised fun and the situation could have been life threatening! Instead, the two held onto each other and swam to the sides.

After being thrown around in the water, we were offered a chance to jump off a bridge into the rapids and a whirlpool. This was Imogen’s proudest moment – she took the lead and was the first to jump in after which Becki jumped too! Imogen returned for a second time (does she have a death wish?) When I asked why none of the boys jumped, no one was available to comment!

The final day was a laser death match in the forests of Pembrokeshire. Mahaboob showed us his immense (and quite terrifying) Indian army skills. Despite my excellent sniping (I killed the VIP the other team were guarding) we lost to his team.

It was a brilliant weekend and one that we’ll never forget. Your newly bonded team are now ready to have an amazingly productive year!
