As part of the University, we have achieved the EcoCampus Platinum award and is also certified to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System). The system helps us with its legal compliance, managing environmental risks and hazards across all operational and administrative functions. Through a centralised EMS in the University, the SU manages its environmental impacts in areas like resource consumption, waste production, control of emissions, travel, construction & refurbishment and sustainable procurement.

This year, we are also working in partnership with the University to achieve the ISO 14001 2015 new standard audit in August 2017.

EMS has proved to be an effective tool for keeping the SU within all its legal requirements. The EMS covers all the products, services and operations of Swansea University Students' Union. We conduct an annual Environmental Review which helps us to identify our significant environmental aspects and to develop an action plan. The EMS internal and external audit report for last year is available here.

All the EMS operational procedures/arrangements can be found here.
