Name: Carys Bethan Jones
Position Standing for: Full Time Education Officer
I’m a postgraduate Criminology student, who is currently your Part Time Women’s Officer. I’m a person who’s positive, passionate, and personable enthusiastically ready to take on the role! I have gained a various range of skills throughout my time at university which would be very beneficial as an Educational Officer. Throughout the summer I worked within the NUS, training current SU officers around the country over zoom. This opportunity allowed me to see how an SU is really run, the jobs and requirements it demands and the impact it has on students. The voluntary internship I had with Think Pacific (working with charities) throughout the summer will also make me successful in this position because of the leadership, organisation, and adaptability skills. Working in Costcutters alongside my degree has also given me relevant skills for this position, for example time management, communication skills, and the ability to react to situations quickly and effectively. I’m well versed in representing students at the university during my undergraduate degree I was a Student Trustee and Project Coordinator for Discovery, and a Student Subject Representative.
