This one and half hour session is designed at entry level, to begin the process of understanding hate crime and its impact on victims and society. We briefly look at the definitions of the protected groups covered by the Hate Crime legislation in addition to the definition of hate crime, as well as exploring the identities within these groups. Delegates have the opportunity to see what hate crime looks like in reality, using case-studies to illustrate the impact of hate crime on the individuals targeted, their families and wider communities.
