Whether you’ve never tried martial arts or are already familiar, this session is perfect for everyone. The club members welcome you with friendly faces and enthusiasm, creating an encouraging atmosphere for beginners.
The session starts with a brief introduction to the art of Jiu-Jitsu—a martial art focused on leverage and technique rather than strength. You’ll quickly see that this is about using your mind and body together to overcome challenges. The instructors are experienced, patient, and approachable, guiding you through basic techniques like breakfalls (how to fall safely) and simple locks and holds.
You’ll partner up with fellow freshers, so it’s social, collaborative, and fun. There’s no pressure—everyone learns at their own pace, and the experienced members are always there to help. The movements may feel unfamiliar at first, but the joy of learning and seeing progress is exciting. Plus, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you’ll feel confident in applying what you’ve just learned.
By the end of the session, you’ll have had a great workout, made new friends, and discovered a unique skill set. Jiu-Jitsu is not only about self-defense but also about building confidence, discipline, and fitness.
