Join a Society!

University doesn’t have to be all work and no play. If you think it’s too late to join a society because Freshers Fayre has been and gone, you are wrong. It’s still the first few weeks of term and there are a lot of societies who haven't even had their first socials yet.

There are currently 128 societies you can join, and you can find all of them all here. You can join your academic society where you'll meet other people who are on your course, or maybe a performing arts society so you can take part in one of their productions. If you have any political interests you can also join one of our political societies.

You can also get involved with Swansea Student Media, where you can write an article in our newspaper 'The Waterfront', or be on the Radio or TV with Xtreme Radio and SUTV.

Societies are a great way for getting to know new people, learning new skills, developing your hobbies and interests, trying something new, and ultimately having fun!

Throughout the year, societies will hold some great events ranging from pub-crawls and quizzes to trips abroad and amazing performances.

University can be daunting when you don't know anybody. Societies are the places where a lot of students make their best friends in University and I would highly recommend joining one, if not a few!
