Students have voted to decide which five full time officer roles they want in place to represent them next year.
The five positions to be elected in March will be Societies and Services, Sports, Welfare, Education and President.
An initial referendum to decide between six options of different sets of officers resulted in a tie and the two leading groups were then put forward for a second vote. Out of 183 students voting in the referendum over 63% voted to keep the President role as opposed to creating a new Liberation, Equality and Diversity role.
Elections will now be held in March for students to decide which candidates they would like to elect in to the five positions. Applications will open 20th February for students to nominate themselves to become a full-time officer from July.
The reduction of seven officers to five will allow the Union to concentrate resources in other areas to continue improving student experience.
