Join Swansea University Sub Aqua Club (SUSAC) for a weekend of recreational boat diving at Worm’s Head on 24–25 October 2026.
Who can join?
- You must be a SUSAC member and a BSAC member affiliated with the club.
- You must hold an Ocean Diver qualification or equivalent. Bring evidence of your qualification for checking on the day.
- You must have an in-date medical declaration on the SUSAC OneDrive.
Meeting point and transport
Meet at the SUSAC kit room, round the side of Wales National Pool. What3words: ///fades.locker.keen. Lifts will be provided from the kit room to the dive location and back.
This is planned as two day trips, returning to the kit room each evening; no overnight accommodation is planned.
Provisional timetable
The following timetable is planned for both days and is subject to confirmation. Final launch and boat retrieval times will be confirmed for each day according to tides and conditions.
- 05:00 — Meet at the kit room.
- 05:50 — Leave the kit room.
- 06:15 — Prepare equipment and the boat for launch.
- 08:00 — Provisional launch time; confirmation to follow.
- 20:00 — Planned boat retrieval.
- 21:00 — Return to the kit room.
- 21:30 — Rinse equipment and refill cylinders.
- 22:00 — Expected finish once equipment care is complete.
Diving and equipment
The dive plan provides for two cylinders per person and 2–3 dives; the number of dives per day and across the weekend is dependant on the divers and thier gas consumption. Buddy pairs will be arranged on the day.
A mixture of club and personal equipment will be used. Kit will be arranged before the dive. Cylinders will leave the kit room full and be refilled on return.
What to bring
- Your own food and drinking water for the day.
- Your agreed personal diving equipment.
- Evidence of your diving qualification.
Please allow time after returning to help rinse equipment and refill cylinders.
Weather and trip updates
The trip depends on suitable conditions. Stormy weather or high winds may mean a shore dive in Pembrokeshire instead, or postponement to another day. Final arrangements and updates will be shared through the SUSAC members’ WhatsApp group.
