SURFC is one of the largest and most successful clubs on campus. We have four teams competing in BUCS fixtures on a Wednesday with our first team competing in the national BUCS Super League, the highest level of university rugby in the UK. All 1st team home games are played under the lights at St Helens with the support of the whole club from the stand making it a tough away day for any team. We also take part in our annual Varsity vs C*rdiff Uni, a whole day of sports competitions leading to the main event; the rugby match at the Principality Stadium or Swansea.com Stadium.
This year we will have a team competing in an in house competition against the fellow rugby clubs in the university, giving extra opportunities for players to make their way up the squads for BUCS fixtures.
Due to our size we can accommodate players of any standard. Players in the 1st XV may have semi-pro contracts or be sports scholars making use of our high performance programme, whereas others could be picking up a ball for the first time! all are welcome! Training takes place on a Monday and Tuesday across the sports pitches down at Swansea Bay Sports Village between the times of 5-8pm, with games being played on a Wednesday.
