Welcome to Swansea Mountain Biking Club

Whether you are a seasoned shredder or looking to try off-road riding for the first time, we are here to get you out on the trails. We are a welcoming, student-run community open to riders of all skills, bikes, and disciplines. From casual weekend spins to competitive racing, if it involves two wheels and dirt, we do it.

Where we ride

• Local trails (Pedal accessible): Clyne woods & Kilvey Hill offer a good mix of enduro/DH tech tracks, dirt jump style jump lines and a good bit of flow, no more than 30 minutes pedal from Singleton or Bay campus.
• Short drive: Afan mast is our closest big trail spot, with high-quality technical enduro riding, it’s a big climb but well worth it, and only 25 minutes up the road.
• Day Trips: Within 60-90 minutes drive, the Welsh valleys contain a vast assortment of enduro riding, with a couple bikeparks to boot (BPW, Dirt farm).

Rides & Events

• Wednesday afternoon rides: Typically meeting between 12:00-14:00, We’ll pedal from campus and ride to a local spot.
• Weekend days out (Saturday or Sunday): Driving to local trail spots, bike parks or trail centres for a full days riding.
• Special Events:
  • Event watch parties: DH world cups, Rampage, Hardline, we’re going to watch it all. 
  • BUCS race: Compete against other universities in a weekend trip of a lifetime
  • Christmas fun ride: Grab yourself a kids bike, pad up, and prepare for the carnage! (check out our Instagram for previous years clips)
  • Christmas meal
  • Various fun socials (TBA)
  • Maybe even a weekend away (dependent on demand, lets us know if you’re down!)
