Welcome to the Swansea University Netball Club.
Want to join a high performance club who love playing netball and socialising…you’ve found the right page. Here you will find all the information needed to join and become a member of SUNC.
Swansea University Netball Club is one of the largest, successful and well known clubs in Swansea University. Having won Club of the Year in 2017-2018, we are now on a mission to excel again this year and make sure the club grows and creates as many opportunities possible for our members. We are a very welcoming club and are happy to have anyone join us no matter what ability of netball as long as you're dedicated to the club.
Teams and Training Times:
If you would like to play competitive Netball then we have 3 teams who play in the BUCS league which is the structure that all UK Universities compete in weekly.
Our 1st team just secured promotion and next year will be competing in the Western 1A league which is only 1 step away from the BUCS Premier South (top league).
Our 2nd and third team are now looking to gain promotion in both their leagues as they both missed out narrowly placing second in their respective leagues this season.
You can view the league here https://www.bucs.org.uk/bucscore/TeamProfile.aspx?id=3029
Our 4th team play in Division 4 on a Thursday evening at the LC2. And our 5th team play in Division 5 on Thursday evening in Cefn Hengoed both in the local Swansea League.
Our Intramural League has been created for our members who wish to play netball for the social and fun side. Members will be placed in teams and will then play in these teams throughout the season. This is a way to meet new people, learn how to play netball and keep active.

Moreover, our socials on a Wednesday night are one you do not want to miss out on. They have been more successful than ever with over 30+ people each week attending our social bars. This year we are proudly sponsored by Popworld and we are every much looking forward to working with them. Another massive social event that is held by the club is tour. Last year over 30 girls went on tour to Croatia, from the feedback given by the girls, it is safe to say tour was triumphant and one of the best club bonding experiences for many of the SUNC members. This year our two Social Secretaries are hoping to increase the number of non-alcoholic socials, increase joint socials with other clubs and of course go
Charity events allow us to come together and be grateful for all that we have. They allow us as a club to give back to the community and appreciate all the work these charities do.
Every year we ask our members to pick what charities they would like to support. Last year SUNC has raised a worthy £2,055.10 which includes:
£128.70 – Bake sale for Maggie’s Hospice
£863.00 – Great SUNC Sweat Off (Various exercises over different distances) for The National Deaf Children’s Society (see article in Waterfront about this incredible week!)
£86.00 – Pub quiz and raffle for MIND Charity
£245.20 – Bingo night and raffle for Coppafeel.
£3702 - Pen-y-Fan walk for Dementia UK.
£362.00 - 5K Rainbow Run
We are already in the process of picking our charities for 2018-2019, and one event has already been set which is the Llanelli Half Marathon.
