The Biggest & Best All Girls Club. Competitive and Social Netball & Fun for all.

Welcome to the Swansea University Netball Club

Want to join a high-performance club that loves playing netball and socializing…you’ve found the right page. Here you will find all the information needed to join and become a member of SUNC.

Club Information:

Swansea University Netball Club is one of the largest, most successful and well-known clubs in Swansea University. Having won Club of the Year 3 times in the past 8 years (2013/14, 2017/18 and 2019/20), we are on a mission to excel again this upcoming year and make sure the club grows and creates as many opportunities as possible for our members. We are a very welcoming club and are happy to have anyone join us no matter what ability of netball as long as you're dedicated to the club.

All of our BUCS teams gained promotion in the last season (20/21) in their respective divisions, as well as the 1s securing promotion in the local Swansea league.

We are so proud to also be the Western Conference Cup and Plate 2020 winners!!

Teams and Training Times:

If you would like to play competitive Netball then we have 3 teams who play in the BUCS league which is the structure that all UK Universities compete in weekly.

Our 1st team will be competing in division 1 of the Western league.

Our 2nd team will be competing in division 3 of the western league.

Our 3rd team will be competing in division 4 of the western league.

We also have 3 teams in the local league, with one now in division 2 (after promotion in 2021) at Cefn Hengoed in the local Swansea League.

We have a development team for those players who are really pushing for places in our competitive teams. The development squad play matches against our 4ths and 5ths as well as friendlies against other local teams.

Our Intramural group has been created for our members who wish to play netball for the social and fun side. Members will be placed in teams and will then play in these teams throughout the season. This is a way to meet new people, learn how to play netball, and keep active.

We also have a social membership for those who don't want to play netball but just want to be involved in a sports club at uni, whether that is for our Wednesday nights on Wind street or our charity and volunteering efforts.

Socials:

Hopefully, we're able to have a more normal year and our Wednesday nights will be back in full force. They're something you won't want to miss out on! All details of our Wednesday night socials will be posted on our socials so make sure you're following to keep up! We also carry out numerous sober socials throughout the year where every member is welcome to join! The social secs have some great ideas lined up such as going surfing, yoga, and the trampoline park. We can't wait for you all to come and join us! Also please do let us know if you have any socials you would like us to do!

Charity:

Charity events allow us to come together and be grateful for all that we have. They allow us as a club to give back to the community and appreciate all the work these charities do.

Every year we ask our members to pick what charities they would like to support. In 2020/2021 SUNC raised a worthy £4,803 which includes:

£402-Do 15, Donate 5, Nominate 5 for Mind Swansea and British Red Cross Beirut appeal (money split between the two charities.

£3,873- Raised through Mover for Movember

During lockdown we managed to raise £528 for NHS Charities Together by running, walking, cycling and rowing over 1000km.

We are excited to raise even more throughout the upcoming year! The charity girls are looking forward to hearing what charities you want us to be fundraising for.
