Welcome to the Swansea University Triathlon Club!

 

A welcoming and sociable club, we hold regular training sessions across the week that welcome all abilities! Whether you are a first time swimmer, cyclist or runner or an experienced triathlete there’s a space for you within the club. We represent the university at races across the UK including BUCS, local races and even venturing up to Glasgow for Red Bull Neptune steps! Whether you are looking to complete your first triathlon, just train or get a new PB, then this is the club for you!

As a member of our club you can get involved in a variety of exciting activities including; sea and open water swimming, bike rides surrounded by the natural beauty of the Gower and mountains of the Brecon Beacons, as well as sunset runs along the beach to The Mumbles. Don’t worry if you don’t want to do all three sports, the amount you train is completely up to you! We train at the Wales National Pool twice a week offering lanes for different abilities, social runs and rides also split into ability groups. We also run girls only sessions to encourage girls getting into the sport.

Joining the club:

Once you've been in touch the next step is to purchase your membership (left hand side of this page), you'll need to have already purchased Sport Swansea membership. Compulsory for all sports clubs for insurance purposes. Your membership fees cover the cost of running the club and allows us to subsidise the cost of pool hire and training sessions at Carmarthen track among other things. Once you’ve paid membership you’ll be added to the paid members Facebook page where all the information needed will be posted!

Training Schedule:

  • Please note, members are not required to attend all training sessions. The club allows members to take training as serious or as casual as they like, with no pressure but a supportive atmosphere. (Some of us are just here for the socials!)

Monday: Swimming @ WNP, 20:00-21:00 (50m pool)

Tuesday: Social run, 19:00 @ Fulton House

Wednesday: Cycling (Group Rides), 14:00 @ Secret Beach Café

Thursday: Swimming @ WNP, 21:00-22:00 (25m pool)

Friday: Interval running, 19:00 @ The Pavillion

Saturday: Longer Rides or Park Run (tbc)

Sunday:  Longer Runs and Trail Runs (tbc) During the warmer months open water swimming/ sea swims will commence.

Socials

In the past, our sober socials have included laser tag, Limitless Trampoline Park, beach BBQs and pasta parties before races. Our other, themed socials are held on the famous Wind St. The socials are a great way to get to know your fellow triathletes outside of training and are a lot of fun! There’s no pressure to drink but with all the encouragement to join in the fun.

Clwb cymdeithasol a chroesawgar, rydym yn cynnal ymarfer cyson dros yr wythnos sy’n agor i bob gallu. Os ydych yn dechreuwr llwyr neu’n triathlete profiadol, mae yna le yn ein glwb i chi. Rydym yn cyncrychioli’r Brifysgol mewn rasiau ar draws y wlad, gan gynnwys BUCS, rasiau lleol ac hyd yn oed yn teithio i Glasgow am Red Bull Neptune Steps. Felly os yw eich targed i gwblhau eich triathlon cyntaf, ymarfer yn unig, neu yn anelu am PB, dyma’r clwb i chi.

Fel aelod or clwb rydych yn gallu ymuno amrywiaeth o weithgaredau cyffroes, gan gynnwys nofio mor a nofio dwr agored, beicio yn harddwch naturiol y Gwyr a mynyddoedd Y Bannau Brycheiniog a rhedeg yn machlud haul ar y traeth Mumbles. Rydym yn ymarfer yn ‘Pwll Cenedlaethol Cymru Abertawe’ ddwywaith yr wythnos, ac yn cynnig lonau ar gyfer galluoedd wahanol. Mae’r rhedeg a beicio yn cael ei rhannu mewn i grwpiau gallu neu cymdeithasol. Rydym hefyd yn rhedeg sessiynal merched yn unig i gefnogi merched yn dechrau y camp.
