We are a community that brings together students who are interested in biomedical engineering, whether you’re just starting your degree or about to graduate.
Our focus is on helping you build meaningful friendships, expand your professional network, learn from industry professionals, and make the most of your university experience.
Throughout the year, we organise a wide variety of events designed to support both your academic and personal development, including:
- Social events to meet and connect with other students.
- Guest talks from industry professionals, NHS staff, alumni, and researchers.
- Company and site visits to gain insight into real world medical technology and healthcare engineering.
- Workshops and projects to apply what you learn in lectures to practical problems.
- Joint socials with other engineering and life science societies to broaden your network across different disciplines.
Whether you’re looking to make friends, develop professionally, or simply get more involved in university life, our society is here to support you every step of the way.

Our Goals
1. Build an Inclusive Biomedical Engineering Community
Biomedical engineering sits between engineering, medicine and the life sciences, and our community should reflect that mix. We want every member to feel valued, respected and able to contribute, whatever their background or course. We aim to give female and underrepresented students a supportive space, with socials, networking opportunities and routes into industry that help reduce barriers to entering the profession.
2. Connect Students with Healthcare and Medical Technology
We link students with clinicians, NHS staff, alumni and medical device and healthtech companies through talks, workshops and site visits. These sessions give members a real view of how medical technologies are developed, regulated and used in practice, and of the careers that exist across the sector.
3. Develop Practical Skills and Friendships Beyond the Course
Biomedical engineers rarely work alone, so we want members to meet and collaborate with people from different courses and year groups. Through socials, hands on workshops and projects, we aim to build teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills, along with friendships that extend beyond lectures and coursework.
Biomedical Engineering demand is on the rise, stay ahead of the game engineers

Truthfully we thought the old designs were bland so we plan on spicing it up but if you have enquires about merch we are currently working on it. But if there is anything you would like to see, again please email us with the address above.
We hope to see you at our socials!
