If you would like to keep up to date on our events and what is happening throughout the year then join our facebook group, the link is in the top left corner of this page. Alternatively drop us an email and we will put you on our mailing list: photography@swansea-union.co.uk

Our aim as a society:

"To gather people interested in photography. To enhance networking amoung the community. To help enhance the skills and experience of our members in a broad range of photography styles. To make photography a fun and friendly, social experience."

We are also looking at intergrating members into the Students Union more and working towards getting paid work as a photographer and gathering experience.

What types of people are in your society?

We are a group consisting of photography enthusiasts, semi-professionals, beginners and the photographically curious. Our events are designed for all levels of experience.

What type of events will you be running?

Possible Photography Events: Portraiture, Levitation, Freeze Frame, Night/Light Painting, Astro, Landscape, Film, Distorted Perspective.

Possible Seminars: Introduction to using Adobe Lightroom, Introduction to manipulating pictures with Adobe Photoshop, Introduction to DSLRs.

We will also be organising a trip to London to participate in the National University Photographic Society Photohunt. At this event we will be mixing with photography societies from around the UK to complete the photohunt. It is a really fun day and you get to meet some great people from other universities.

If we can get the correct expertise we will be running a SLR photography session and an accompanying Dark Room Film Development session, this is not yet confirmed.

Socials:

We will be running several socials through out the year ranging from nights out, to meals to BBQ's on the beach!

Mae gennym ystod eang iawn o offer y gellir eu defnyddio yn ystod unrhyw un o’n sesiynau a gallent hefyd cael eu benthyg allan yw’n aelodau.

Rydym yn cwrdd i fyny tua unwaith yr wythnos am bob math o wahanol weithgareddau, gwersi a nosweithiau cymdeithasol. Yn ystod y flwyddyn byddwn yn ymdrin â ffotograffiaeth facro, hir-amlygiad, peintio golau, tirwedd, portreadau a mwy, hyn oll wrth ddysgu chi sut i ddefnyddio gwahanol gamerâu i’w llawn botensial. Mae yna ystafell dywyll ar gampws y mae ein cymdeithas yn cael mynediad at a byddwn yn cael llawer o nosweithiau cymdeithasol hwyliog (a drefnwyd gan ein hysgrifennydd cymdeithasol gwych Kah Wai Chiew) gan gynnwys: barbeciw ar y traeth, nosweithiau allan, prydau bwys a hyd yn oed tripiau i Lundain a rhannau hardd arall o Gymru.

Mae ein rheolwr cystadlaethau Tom Fairchild hefyd yn cynnal cystadlaethau amrywiol drwy gydol y flwyddyn gall ein haelodau cymryd rhan yn, gyda chyfle i ennill gwobrau a chyfleoedd gwych i arddangos eu lluniau. Os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau ar unrhyw gystadlaethau sy’n rhedeg ar hyn o bryd e-bostiwch: swanseaphotocomp@gmail.com

Mae’n costio £12 y flwyddyn i ymuno a’n cymdeithas, neu gallwch dalu £8 y semester (Medi – Ionawr ac Ionawr i Fehefin). Mae aelodaeth yn cynnwys y gallu i fenthyg ein hadnoddau yn rhad ac am ddim.
