About Us

Welcome to the Swansea University K-Pop Society!

Aims and Objective

  1. To bring together the K-Pop and Korean Culture enthusiasts in Swansea and in the United Kingdom in general.
  2. To fortify Korean cultural tolerance and understanding.
  3. To organise events and activities to cater for the interests and needs of the members in Swansea University in particular.
  4. To foster a continuing dialogue, discussion, and exchange of ideas on issues of interest to K-Pop and Korean Culture.

As a society member, you enjoy:

  • Entry to all of our weekly dance classes, cultural events and K-Drama nights
  • Transport fees at subsidised rates, when applicable
  • Right to vote during the AGM.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Non-members are still welcome to join us for our activities. The only setbacks are:

  • £2 entry fee required for each cultural event and weekly dance class, which will go to the club maintenance fund
  • Transport fees at normal rates
  • No right to vote during AGM.

We also have our own competitive K-Pop dance and vocal team, HIGHGROUND, who have performed and competed across the UK.

  • [HIGHGROUND] Dance Category Champion at Korea Day in Sheffield 2019 

  • [Kimchi Girls] Dance Category 2nd Place at Korea Day in Wales 2019 : National Welsh K-pop Championships 

Our society is supported by JPG and Purple-A

Korean Cultural Events

We also host bi-weekly cultural events. These include Korean language lessons, traditional Korean games and Korean film nights.
