Welcome to the Materials Society! Attend fascinating talks with the South Wales Materials Association (SWMA) and establish valuable connections; attend socials, have fun, and connect with coursemates!
While this society is geared towards materials, students from any discipline are welcome and encouraged to join. Materials Science and Engineering is woven into every aspect of everyday life, as such there is often overlap between Materials and other scientific and engineering disciplines.
This academic year we aim to have a variety of socials, from your typical student’s night out to board games and movie night, so no matter what your interests, you can get involved in the fun. We intend to have socials reasonably regularly.
As a committee, we’re happy to help and open to suggestions. Find us on social media (top of page) and follow to get updates on the latest!
In previous years, MatSoc has had affiliations with SPECIFIC, M2A, and SWMA.

Mae'r Gymdeithas Deunyddiau yn dod â diwydiant ac addysg ynghyd â hwyl a chymdeithasu! Mae dod i adnabod eich cyd-ddisgyblion yn un o'r rhannau gorau am brofiad y brifysgol. Nid yn unig y rhain yw'r bobl y byddwch chi'n treulio'r rhan fwyaf o'ch amser gyda, ond maen nhw hefyd, o bosib, yn bobl y gallech chi ddod o hyd i'ch hun mewn gweithle. Trwy ddod i ymuno â ni ar ymweliadau â safleoedd diwydiant neu ddod i sgyrsiau Cymdeithas Deunyddiau De Cymru, a gynhelir bob 2-3 wythnos, gallwch hefyd ddechrau gwneud cysylltiadau gwerthfawr o fewn diwydiant a allai eich helpu ymhen blynyddoedd i ddod.
Mae aelodaeth ar gyfer y gymdeithas yn £ 3 am y flwyddyn, mae hyn yn eich gwahodd i bob un o'r digwyddiadau hyn, ond mae hefyd yn golygu y bydd gennych fynediad at archebion nwyddau yn ddiweddarach yn y flwyddyn!
