Student Minds

We are here to help if you are affected by mental illness, or know someone who is. With 1/3 affected by mental illness in any one year, we are here to help battle the stigma.

The Student Minds Society is run by students for students to complement the welfare services that are currently being run at Swansea university. This group is designed to provide a further means of support to students. We aim to promote positive wellbeing on campus, creating understanding and connect people to the resources they need to thrive.

We listen to the needs of students and throughout campaigns will address issues that affect so many of us ranging from eating disorders, to stress and depression by raising awareness and challenging stigma. This year we have plans for mental health awareness week, guest talks and socials as well as providing general help and support.

This group is working with Student Minds UK to promote positive well-being amongst students and the term "Mental Wealth" is used to challenge ideas about mental health issues and to emphasize what things can be done to help not only ourselves but also those around us.

We want as many students as possible to get involved this year, so please contact the committee by emailing studentminds@swansea-societies.co.uk if you have any questions.
