Academic research can be challenging and isolating. The Postgraduate Research Society is for all postgraduate students to socialise and support each other during their unique research journeys.

All postgraduate students (PhD and Masters) from all disciplines of study are welcome. Due to the distinctive nature of postgraduate study, we are unable to accept any undergraduate students.

AIMS:

  1. To provide an inclusive and kind community for postgraduate students to socialise and network.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To bring research students together for mutual benefit and peer-support through regular social activities.
  2. To provide a space for developing research ideas.
  3. To create opportunities for networking and research sharing within and beyond Swansea.

MEMBERS WILL BENEFIT FROM:

  1. A support network of research students across Swansea.
  2. Regular social and networking events, including a fortnightly coffee club, and bigger events every fortnight such as bowling, quizzes, beach walks, escape rooms and more.
  3. Monthly events in collaboration with the established student-led initiative Talking Research, which provides the opportunity to practice presenting in front of peers.

We request that members pay for their membership. Please buy the standard membership if you are a Swansea University student. We also welcome members from outside the university, so if you are not a Swansea University student please buy the associate membership.
