SITE BRIEF
The dive site will be Saint Brides, Haverfordwestwest (approx. 1 hour 40 minutes from the dive locker).
Weather: Dry, Sunny 17 degrees
Despite there being no active boat lane here, there is infrequent boat activity here so all dive pairs will be required to carry some form of SMB.
The lack of an official boat lane does mean that divers can either go along either side of the bay; the shallower right-hand side (potentially nudibranchs, crabs, fishes and lobsters in the witches cauldron, a sunken donut shape) or along the slightly deeper left-hand side (kelp forests, arches and crevasses waiting to be explored with squid often seen here on night dives).
The max depth of the site is around 14m.
T PLEASE make sure you bring enough water and stay hydrated. Also please make sure you have food for lunch and some other snacks.
The back-up site is to be Stackpole Quay
PLAN:
2 waves of divers, one set acting as shore cover while the others dive.
BORROWING KIT
Those needing to borrow kit, we will organise when to come by the kitroom to try on wetsuits etc before the dive.
TRANSPORT
Some of committee will be able to provide lifts for all but will also be carrying kit so its may be a tight squeeze! You are more than welcome to make your own way there.
£16.25 estimate of fuel per person.
SUMMARY OF TIMINGS:
- 07:30 meet at dive locker
- 08:00 leave dive locker for Saint Brides
- 10:00 arrival at St Brides
- 11:00 first wave of divers
- 12:30 second wave of divers
- 14:00 leave the beach
- 16:00 earliest arrival back at the kitroom (depends on what people decide to do after the dive)
