Ocean Diver is the first scuba diver qualification for BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club). It is comprised of three main elements: theory, pool practical skill sessions, and open water dives. The qualification allows students to dive in the UK and abroad to a maximum of 20meters in open water and use up to 36 per cent Nitrox. Can dive with other ocean divers when supervised by Dive Manager, and should stick to diving conditions that they encountered during their training unless they are accompanied by a Dive Leader or higher qualified diver.
Our instructor from Spring Valley Lakes runs the Practical side to the course, whilst E-Learning is self taught. There will be 4 groups throughout the year. The groups will contain 4 maximum. The groups will be staggered throughout the year, 1st & 2nd group will start on the 8th October. (The other group dates will follow). You have to complete ATLEAST 5 pool sessions. These take place in Morriston pool on a Thursday evening. There is NO transport provided to the pool or lakes. The Lakes dive consists of 2 days (over a weekend) where you’ll carry out your open water exams in your groups. You must be available throughout the dates given to you once being allocated a group. In March group 1, 2,3 and 4 will complete their lakes dives so must be available during the weekend given to them.

This course is non-refundable and dates must not be swapped around due to pre set dates arranged with course instructor availability. You must be fit and well before signing up. A medical form also must be complete before beginning the course.
The cost break down -

- Practical (including pool + lakes/exam) = £440
- Diver eLearning + 12 month BSAC member ship = £123
- SUSAC Diver fee = £40
- Club Standard Membership + Sports Swansea (unless you already have it)= £20 + £35
- ESTIMATED price = £ 623 (if you need to buy sports swansea on top = £658)
To secure a slot on the course, all you have to do is buy your ocean diver training pack through our sub aqua page on the SU website, from there you'll be added to a group chat ( found in your receipt) where you'll be given the next steps on when to purchase your BSAC e-learning and how to do this correctly. Once you have purchased your Ocean diver pack from our su page, we ask if you can then go and buy our standard membership + diver fee :)
