Swansea University Students’ Union Announces 2026 Election Results

Swansea University Students’ Union has confirmed the results of its 2026 Officer Elections, following a successful voting week that concluded with a lively Results Night on 12 March.

The annual elections are one of the most important democratic events in the Union calendar, giving students the opportunity to vote for the officers who will represent them and shape the Union’s priorities for the coming year. This year’s election saw a record number of candidates and strong student turnout, reflecting high levels of engagement across the Swansea student community.

The newly elected full-time officers for the 2026–27 academic year are:

  • President: Robbie Richards

  • Education Officer: Tom Navin

  • Societies & Services Officer: Anwen Ellis

  • Welfare Officer: Abigail Vian

  • Welsh Affairs Officer: Ruby Cradle

  • Sports Officer: Dafydd Evans

The results were announced during the Union’s Results Night celebration, which brought together students, candidates and staff to mark the end of the election period. The evening continued with celebrations across the Union venues, with students gathering in JC’s, the Cove and Sin City into the early hours.

Delivering the elections involved weeks of preparation from staff and student teams across the Union. In a message to colleagues following the results, Union leadership praised the collaborative effort that made the event possible.

Particular thanks were given to the Student Voice team, who led the delivery of the elections, alongside teams from Marketing and Communications, Events, Bar & Venue, Advice, Finance, Retail, and the Union’s student staff, all of whom supported the smooth running of the voting period and results event.

The newly elected officers will now begin preparations to take up their roles, working alongside the Students’ Union team to represent students and lead campaigns on key issues affecting the Swansea student community.

A big thankyou to everyone that has voted.
