Varsity Wrapped 2025

Whether you were competing, cheering or straight up boozing, Varsity 2025 was a day of community, competitiveness and absolute carnage ... meaning it was done right!

So now that everyone is fully recovered from Varsity (hopefully...), it should be a good time to take a little trip down memory lane to check out some of the highlights!

Sports Highlights

Okay, while the biggest plot twist of the day was the rugby being moved to the Principality, what was NOT a sports highlight was a pint and a chocolate bar being £10 in there ... seriously, what is up with that

Anyway, despite Cardiff taking the overall Varsity shield, Swansea still had some serious wins!

Our amazing athletes rowed, sailed, powerlifted and frisbeed into first place, and we couldn’t be prouder of every single person that competed.

  • We witnessed a netball showdown that left us on the edge of our seats with the Swansea girls taking home their first win in over 13 years!

  • For the men's water polo, we saw some tactical splashing and the Swansea boys swimming to victory

  • The women’s football team also had no fear, tackling the win for Swansea down at Llanrumney

It's not just about the wins, though; Varsity is made by every single athlete that competes and the crowds that come to support them.

So whether you were running, kicking or batting or instead screaming, chanting and painting your face green and white, YOU are what makes Varsity!

The Green and White Army

Even though we ventured into enemy territory on packed trains and coaches, the GWA army still painted the capital city green and white (rumour has it they are still sweeping up green glitter)!

Every green T-shirt, boonie, and handmade sign (no matter how many swear words it had) was a tribute to the support and passion of our team.

Though this glorious day has come and gone, leaving behind blurry memories, mild sunburn, and some seriously questionable pictures, it’s never really over. It’s time to start preparing for Varsity 2026!

Get ready to chant louder, cheer harder, and grab your glitter glue because nowhere does Varsity like a city that can give you sunburn and frostbite in the same afternoon, all the while getting viciously mugged by a seagull.
