What is Sikhism?

Sikhism is a religion founded by the first sikh guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, it is a religion based on serving humanity. Teaching concepts from the equality of all human beings regardless of race, creed, gender to the belief that meditation on the name of God is the key way to connect us with God. It revolves itself around 10 human gurus, and an eternal 11th guru which is the scripture (Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji). The Guru's fought for freedom to practise religion, regardless of whether they believed that religion was the full truth or not. The 9th Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, was beheaded as a sacrifice to preserve the right for Hindu's to practise their faith. Although everyone is welcome to Sikhism. There should be no compulsion in religion, and Sikhs would infact encourage you to follow your religion to the fullest. Christians to become better Christians, and Muslims to become better Muslims.
