Originally run as a collaboration between Hindu society and Tamil society, our classes are back for the 25/26 academic year. We welcome members of all backgrounds and abilities who want to get involved in our classes and form a community of people passionate about South Asian dance forms. We aim to bring together people who enjoy our cultural dance styles and want to carry on dancing at university, while also spreading awareness of South Asian cuture.
The society offers a combination of classical and modern dance styles, and we hope to add more according to our members' interests. The classes currently available are:
We offer weekly classes, guest workshops from other societies for other dance styles, as well as opportunities to get involved in performances and inter-university competitions; last year, 20 of our Bollywood and Kuthu dancers performed in the Dance Society's 2025 Spring Showcase, and some Bharatanatyam students performed at the Tamil Society Pongal Vizha. Our socials will take place at least once a month for our dancers to get to know one another outside the dance studio.
