About Us

SUCS is one of the university's longest-running and largest societies. In addition to providing members with a range of IT services, we hold regular events and socials throughout the year, and work on a variety of open-source projects you can contribute to.

Swansea University Computer Society is open to all members of the University's Student Union.

We offer a wide range of computing services to our members, all based on Free Open Source Software (FOSS). Our computers run various Linux distributions, including Fedora and Debian.

Our society is open to those of all interests, experience, and skill levels, and we welcome those studying any subject. Whether you're a programmer hoping to learn system administration and work on open-source projects, a designer who wants to contribute ideas, or just someone who wants to learn and network, SUCS is here to help!

We currently run Silver, a Debian server accessible to all members, a virtual machine server, our own Gitlab Enterprise Edition instance, our own email system, we also have our own public IP range. We aim to mirror the sort of infrastructure you would meet in industry, making experience within our society fantastic for your CV. We also have a Discord server, where you can network with University Alumni and existing SUCS members.
