Academic Integrity Starts With You

As we are now drawing closer to the assessment period, our contacts on the Academic Integrity Advisory group of the QAA are reporting increased incidences of extortion and black mail by Essay Mills.

As we are now drawing closer to the assessment period, our contacts on the Academic Integrity Advisory group of the QAA are reporting increased incidences of extortion and blackmail by Essay Mills. These organisations are constantly targeting vulnerable students to sell essays or research work, which constitutes academic fraud.

If you are in this situation or know anyone that has been impacted by this, please reach out to the Students' Union's Advice and Support centre: advice@swansea-union.co.uk

If you are feeling stressed and cannot meet your deadlines, please turn to your colleges for extra support, in submitting an application for extensions. Engaging in academic fraud would negatively impact the quality of your degree. Do not forget, academic integrity starts with you!

If you need any support or guidance with academic integrity, our Advice and Support Centre has a team of trained Advisors who can provide you with impartial and confidential advice and representation, independent of the University.

They can support you through a number of legal issues and personal matters, across money, welfare, academic, and housing.

Although we are currently unable to offer on-campus appointments/drop-ins due to compulsory social distancing measures in line with Covid-19 safety measures, we are still able to offer advice via email, telephone, and zoom. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Email: advice@swansea-union.co.uk

Phone: 01792 295 821

You can also send us a request for us to contact you via your preferred method using our Contact form.

Zoom drop-ins: 9.30-12pm every Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays here, where you will enter into a digital waiting room until one of our advisors is free to speak with you.

The University also has a useful webpage on Academic Integrity, which can be accessed here.
