Motion Success - Improving Road Safety at the Bay Campus
Here in the Students’ Union, you come first! What’s best for students is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we always want you to have your say on what could be better and we’ll do our best to change it.
One way we do this, is by offering you the opportunity to submit motions at our Student Forums.
During the last student forum of the previous academic year, a motion was submitted (and after a quick vote, passed) about improving the road safety at the Bay Campus.
You raised concerns about the busy one-way road on Bay Campus, which students regularly have to cross to get from the bus stop to numerous colleges, the library, and even accommodation.
With the road being in constant use, we felt it was the University’s responsibility to provide adequate cross facilities such as a Zebra Crossing.
So we lobbied the University and guess what? We succeeded!
That’s right! During the week commencing 19thAugust, the University will be installing a raised crossing point to improve the road safety at the Bay Campus.
So please note that from 19thto the 23rdAugust, to facilitate the work, Severn Way will be closed to all public transport and HGVs, and, therefore, the buses will drop off and pick up on Fabian Way only during this period.

Llwyddiant cynnig – Gwella Diogelwch Heolydd ar Gampws y Bae
Yma yn Undeb y Myfyrwyr, chi sy’n dod yn gyntaf! Mae lles myfyrwyr wrth wraidd ein gwaith. Dyna pam rydyn ni am i chi ddweud eich dweud a byddwn ni’n gwneud ein gorau i newid pethau i chi.
Un ffordd o wneud hyn yw cyflwyno cynigion yn ein Fforymau Myfyrwyr.
Yn ystod y fforwm diwethaf yn y flwyddyn academaidd ddiwethaf, cafodd cynnig ei gyflwyno (a’i basio ar ôl pleidlais gyflym) am wella diogelwch yr heolydd ar Gampws y Bae.
Dywedoch chi eich bod chi’n pryderu am yr heol un-ffordd brysur ar Gampws y Bae, y mae rhaid i fyfyrwyr ei chroeso’n aml i fynd o’r safle fysiau i nifer o’r colegau, y llyfrgell, a hyd yn oed llety.
Gan fod yr heol yn cael ei defnyddio’n gyson, teimlon ni mai cyfrifoldeb y Brifysgol oedd darparu cyfleusterau croesi digonol megis croesfan sebra.
Felly lobion ni’r Brifysgol a llwyddon ni!
Yn ystod yr wythnos sy’n dechrau ar 19eg Awst, bydd y Brifysgol yn sefydlu croesfan i wella diogelwch ar heolydd Campws y Bae.
Felly o 19eg tan 23ain Awst, er mwyn gwneud y gwaith, bydd Severn Way ar gau i drafnidiaeth gyhoeddus a HGVs, ac felly, bydd y bysiau yn gollwng a chasglu pobl o Ffordd Fabian yn ystod y cyfnod hwn.
Ni fydd modd i ni wella pethau heb eich adborth, felly mae croesi mawr iddo!
