Welsh Government Guidelines

The fire-break in Wales has ended but there are new national measures in place for our safety.

The fire-break in Wales ended on the 9th November, but there are now a new set of national measures to replace them.

We understand it’s not easy and this is not what you imagined student life to be, but your efforts are helping to protect each other and the wider community, and for that we are truly grateful.

The Welsh Government Guidelines

  • Two households can now join together to form an exclusive extended household (bubble). To help keep everyone as safe as possible at home, only people from your own household or extended household can meet in your private home. If one person from either household develops symptoms, everyone should immediately self-isolate.
  • There are no travel restrictions inside Wales but during the month-long lockdown in England, travel will not be permitted outside Wales without a reasonable excuse.
  • Up to 15 people can take part in an organised indoors activity and up to 30 in organised outdoors activities, providing all social distancing, hand hygiene and other covid safety measures are followed.
  • You will still need to maintain two metre social distancing and wear face masks in enclosed public places, including on public transport and taxis.

The situation will be reviewed after a fortnight to see whether further changes to the national measures can be made.
