Objectives

The goal of the Welsh Forum (Undergraduate & Postgraduate) is to provide a dedicated space for Welsh-speaking students to connect, share experiences, and influence decisions relating to Welsh-medium provision and wider student life. The forums aim to strengthen communication between students, Welsh Academic Representatives, Welsh societies, and key institutional partners, ensuring the Welsh student voice is heard, valued, and acted upon.

The forums support collaboration, community-building, and continuous improvement of Welsh-medium and Welsh-language experiences at the University.

Planned Actions

Ongoing Forum Delivery: Continue delivering forums in Terms 2 and 3, balancing academic discussion with social and networking opportunities.

Postgraduate Engagement: Organise a postgraduate research symposium in response to student feedback, providing a platform for Welsh-speaking postgraduates to share and discuss their research.

Cross-Group Collaboration: Strengthen links between GymGym committee members, Welsh Academic Representatives, and Coleg Ambassadors to improve coordination and representation.

Promotion and Accessibility: Actively promote forum attendance to both undergraduate and postgraduate Welsh-speaking students to ensure broad participation.

Student Voice and Feedback: Use forums to gather structured feedback on Welsh-medium provision and the wider Welsh student experience, feeding into ongoing institutional improvements.
