swansea university Muay Thai: the art of 8 limbs
This sport encompasses all the most exciting aspects of combat sports and is considered to be the most complete form of martial arts.
what is Muay Thai? - This sport makes use of sweeps, different clinching methods, and stand-up striking (punches and kicks). Because it combines the use of fists, shins, knees, and elbows, it is known as the "art of eight limbs."
is Muay Thai for everyone? - yes, because of the huge variety of muay thai fighters with a vast array of different weight classes, styles and both female and male champions. not only is this a great sport to learn for self defense or competing, its also a great for fitness and to become more disciplined. In our club, we strive to make everyone welcome regardless of skill level or knowledge.
socials? - we make sure that we always have socials going on throguout the year, whether that's ninja warrior, going out for a meal and even hosting UFC watch fight nights. It's always fun with the Muay Thai committee as we are a very inclusive community.
where do i go if i have a problem? as a community we make sure everyone is respected and treated well. if there is ever any concerns in the club including medical advice, you can go to our welfare officer Tyler or even anyone else on the committee. We're always ready to help you
