Whether you’re looking for competitive netball, social netball, or just a great group of girls to have a party with, SUNC has a place for everyone. As Swansea Uni’s current BACK TO BACK CLUB OF THE YEAR, we take pride in the success of all of our teams. However it’s not only about the competition at SUNC – we also love a good social, with regular events and activities which bring our whole club together. OUR MEMBERSHIPS
SOCIAL
£20.00
This membership is for anybody who would like to be a part of SUNC without playing netball. It provides affiliation to SUNC, invite to all socials, including Wednesday nights (and the benefits from our club sponsors such as discounted drinks and free entry), club meals/parties/awards and sober socials. The membership also includes a £5.00 charity donation.
STANDARD
£25.00
This membership is for every playing member of SUNC to buy, including squads 1-6 and intramural. It provides affiliation to SUNC, invite to all socials, including Wednesday nights (and the benefits from our club sponsors such as discounted drinks and free entry), club meals/parties/awards and sober socials. The membership also includes a players top and a £5.00 charity donation.
(Players must also purchase a Sport Swansea membership which will automatically appear when purchasing a standard membership. This money does not go to SUNC but is a requirement of Sport Swansea to be insured and play sport using their facilities.)
PLAYER TOP UP FEES
If you’re looking to play netball, you’ll also need to purchase a top up membership, dependent upon what team you’re in.
BUCS 1s
£160
Following another fab year, our 1s were promoted into Western Division 1 where they placed 2nd in their first season against uni's with lots of resources and facilities. They were unbeaten at home- with a big thank you to the intramural girls showing up and supporting each week!
Training week to week looks like this:
Two 2 hour court session with an experienced & qualified coach – Monday 6-8pm, Sunday 1-3pm
SHED (S&C) session with an experienced & qualified coach – Tuesday 7-8am
Fitness session – Friday 7-8am
Prehab/rehab programme
Wednesday BUCS game Western Tier 1incl. umpire fees & travel
Facility hire for all training and quality equipment

BUCS 2s
£160
Our 2s are currently Western Tier 3 and this year will be pushing for that promotion which they’re so close to! The 2s share majority training with the 1s and this year have their own coach so we can focus efforts on that promotion.

INTRAMURAL (Turn up and Play)

Our intramural Turn up and Play is the perfect opportunity to get active at uni and meet new people. Our intramural reps Sarah and Evie will run weekly training sessions, with some fun drills and match play. With a record breaking 100+ members last year, our intramural group is the perfect place for girls who want to experience fun, social netball.
2 hour coached training session per week – Wednesday 1.30-3.30pm, Sketty Lane Outdoor Courts
Facility hire and equipment
Friendly games against surrounding universities and all transport to away games/friendlies.

SOCIALS
Socials are back and better than ever! Our social secs Ruby, Freya and Ellie are going to be bringing you some new and exciting socials including tonnes of boozy Wednesday nights and plenty sober socials, providing the perfect opportunity for our SUNC girls to spend time together and make the best memories. CHARITY
Charity is a huge part of SUNC. We love engaging in charitable activities to give back to our local community, and support causes which are close to our members hearts. Engaging in charity fosters teamwork and social responsibility beyond the court, whilst strengthening bonds between our members. This year, our charity reps Maya and Annie have tonnes of ideas. Alongside our yearly charity games/tournaments, they’re planning some exciting events for a huge variety of charities, including walking up Pen y Fan, car washes, talent swaps with other clubs, a fancy black tie event and lots more! We have also set up a brand new run club, promoting positive mental health within our club, but also to raise some money for mind! If you have any idea for any charitable events we should host, let us know!
WELLBEING
As a club, we know how important wellbeing is at university, and we’re here to help you every step of the way! Our wellbring rep Molly is always available for a chat, offer help and support where possible. We know moving to University and joining a new society is daunting but ou are not alone! If you have any worries or problems no matter the size, Maya is here to help, whether it be over a coffee or a chat in the toilets on a Wednesday night. VARSITY
Our 1s are also current Welsh Varsity CHAMPIONS and Sport Swansea's Varsity Team of the Year, for the first time in 13 years, they beat Cardiff 1s (a whole league above us!!!!) by 2 goals after trailing by 10 goals at half time to win 42-40. Varsity isn't just a day for the players, but for all members of the club who show up to support- there's lots of fun, passion and most importantly drinking- it's a day you don't want to miss and really showcases what being a part of SUNC is about!!
