New members:
In order to become a member, please fill out the following forms: Application form and dress code. Then return it to Shotgunrifle@swansea-sports.co.uk.
When filling out the application form leave the "sponsor" section on the last two pages blank. Additionally, when submitting your application please sign the dress code and return it with your application.
Rifle:
Our club mainly focuses on .22 Calibre Small Bore Rifle target shooting at a nearby range. We are a mixed ability group that focuses on development so we can participate in BUCS and Varsity. We usually shoot Wednesday afternoon.
We are members of the Swansea Rifle Club. The probationary membership fee is £72 for the entire academic year (2024-2025) plus a £30 admin fee for the application. This covers your insurance costs, use of the club range, equipment, and firearms. An additional cost to consider is the ammunition used while training.
Competitive rifle shooting: Each year we compete in Varsity in a shoulder-to-shoulder match against Cardiff University as the main event we build up to in the year. We also enter the BUCS individual leagues and, if we have the numbers, the BUCS team league, both of which are postal competitions.
Shotgun:
Shoots: Every Wednesday we travel to Crynant shooting grounds to shoot a variety of clay pigeon disciplines including English Sporting, Skeet, Trap, and Down the Line. Owning a Shotgun license is not required as we offer coaching for shooters of all abilities; however, shooters without a license are required to complete an introductory session costing around £60.
Competitive clay shooting: Every year we compete in BUCS and Varsity as well as numerous friendly competitions with other universities. Competitions are usually team-based with an individual element for talented shooters to show off their skills.
